Defying the Odds12 viewsThis weed just will not stop. It does not seem in the least bit bothered by the snow, when all other plant life has gone into hibernation.
The original shot was rather bland, so i played around with the sliders in Lightroom until i happened upon this effect.picsfor

Old Truck 8 viewsMy 1st attempt at an HDR image after some careful listening and research. I have been meaning to take this picture for some time but did not have the tools to attempt the HDR . On the whole ... i quite like it . hope the owner does too.

Pagham Beach17 viewsWent down to Pagham Beach today to try out my new contraption....a piece of shade 11 welding glass super-glued to a Cokin P Series adapter ring....I should gt a Blue Peter badge for this effort!!
The idea behind the welding glass is that can basically do the same job as a 10-stop ND filter. Obviously there are differences in their make-up, but the big difference is price....a total of £12 for my set-up compared to £80 for a B&W 10-stop filter....impressive hey?!
The welding glass does give images a strongDarren1978

After Dinner . . 17 viewsThought you guys would like a laugh. Taken for the PR 'Valentine with no red' challenge. Apparently because this picture doesn't meet stock library requirements it's cr*p. According to flake over on PR any image that doesn't have a perfectly balanced an full histogram is obviously flawed. Perhaps I should give up. Actually no, I'll just give up PR insteadTringle WP

Arrosage13 viewsTook this for a DCM weekend comp 'Red or Green'; so I did both. Unfortunately although it looks magnifique full size, compression doesn't suit the subtle contrasts in the reds.Tringle WP

Looking at you21 viewsI tried a B&W version. I have used a fill in layer for the background and had a bit of a problem with the beard. Does it look alright on the left hand side? I would like to enter it in my camera club competition if it looks ok.
ThankyouSandy

Death's Head Hawk Moth Caterpillar11 viewsOur friend's cat found this in the rose bed today. It is about the size of a man's middle finger (so a little larger than we are used to seeing hereabouts). Does anyone know what it could be? YES! Jinky got it. Thanks Jinky, now we know.Tringle WP

Vengance is the Photographers...53 viewsWhilst holidaying in Dubai a few years back, this nice lady got a strop on because she was thrown out of the Gazibo assigned to our room.
Her room wasn't assigned one and she wasn't prepared to pay.
She promptly decided to plonk herself right in front in an effort to make our use of said 'tent' difficult.
My wife was miffed until i started photographing 'the pool area'
Moral of the story - don't mess with a photographer with a digital compact!

How Does a Fish see itself?13 viewsProbably one of my more rewarding pictures from my trip to Kew Gardens - a Clown Trigger Fish reflected off the water at the top of the tank it was swimming in.
Very much down to the effects of the flash gun this shot.picsfor
